UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT. Tilda and I took over at the end of March so please be patient with us as we grow our offering, our team and our menus. BTW there is a picture of Tilda in the gallery !!
The Red Lion, built in 1826 as a coaching inn, is big and I mean really BIG. Hence we are able to have a pub of three halves (yes, I know) - DOWNSTAIRS BAR and WALLED GARDEN for eating and quaffing, the upstairs LION'S DEN for watching sport and more and a SKITTLE ALLEY
Downstairs, in the surprisingly INTIMATE BAR we serve drinks as well as food lovingly prepared by our amazing kitchen team, using fresh, locally sourced ingredients. In June, July and August we are open all day so there is morning coffee as well as Dorset cream teas in the afternoon
Upstairs THE LION'S DEN is showing Sky sports and later in the year, depending on regulations, there will be a pool table, slot machine, dartboard and jukebox and will serve drinks and food including an obscenely dirty burger and buckets of chicken wings whilst showing sports and featuring live music and comedy nights. Quiz nights are also planned. This area can also be transformed into a function suite for private meetings and family celebrations.
