ABOUT US

UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT. Tilda and I took over at the end of March 21, the pub having been empty for a year: there have been a few changes. BTW there is a picture of Tilda in the gallery !!

The Red Lion, built in 1826 as a coaching inn, is big and I mean really BIG. Hence we are able to have a pub of three halves (yes, I know) - DOWNSTAIRS BAR and WALLED GARDEN for eating and quaffing, the upstairs LION'S DEN for watching sport and more and............................ a SKITTLE ALLEY

Downstairs, in the surprisingly INTIMATE BAR we serve drinks as well as food lovingly prepared by our amazing kitchen team, using fresh, locally sourced ingredients. In June, July and August we are open all day so there is morning coffee as well as Dorset cream teas in the afternoon.

Upstairs and entirely separate, THE LION'S DEN has a dart board and pool table as well as showing Sky Sports including football and rugby. There is live music, open mic nights and comedy nights. Quiz nights are also planned. This area can also be transformed into a function suite for private meetings and family celebrations.

OUR FIRST OPEN MIC NIGHT WAS A GREAT SUCCESS SO THEY WILL NOW BE THE FIRST THURSDAY OF EVERY MONTH. NEXT ONE THURSDAY 7 OCTOBER  8PM.

To reserve a slot email tweedjacketmusic@gmail.com or phone the pub.
